If a quiet getaway is what you prefer, this lovely two-bedroom, accessible cottage that can comfortably sleep up to six could be the perfect spot. It is located on a private road overlooking the sandy Camelot Beach and Lake Erie. Although the beach, which is private to the cottage, is not wheelchair accessible as there are 72 steps down, there is a lovely patio affording a gorgeous view of the beach and lake.

The cottage has been totally renovated with an open concept European feel. The owners, who live next door and are close by if needed, travel to Denmark each year and have brought back ideas that they incorporated into the design of the spacious and bright cottage interior. The facility is both smoke-free and pet-free.
The driveway is circular with room for a side-loading vehicle and a flat sidewalk up to the cottage, which has a small ramp at the doorway. The cottage has ceramic floors throughout and lovely pine ceilings.

The two bedrooms are identical with two single beds on legs in each room and cots available. The rooms are nice and bright with large windows. Bathroom
A guest using a mobility device could get excited with the bathroom as it features a drive-in shower 45" x 58" with no lip and a thermostatically controlled, movable showerhead. A shower chair is available. The sink has a lever faucet. At the time of audit, the owners were looking into modifying the toilet, but prospective renters could bring their own Versaframe if needed. The doorway to the bathroom is 28 ½" wide and there is a space of 7 ½' from the door to the shower and 3'6" from the edge of the sink to the opposite wall. Switches are nice and low.

Location
Nature lovers will appreciate the fact that the Wainfleet Marsh is close by featuring such species as the beaver, egret and great blue heron.
The City of Port Colborne is just five minutes away and Niagara Falls less than half an hour.
To reach the cottage take Highway 3 to the west side of Port Colborne, turn left onto Cement Plant Road and at the end turn right onto Lakeshore Road. Travel on Lakeshore for about ¼ mile, then turn left onto Camelot Drive Private. Make a right-hand turn halfway up the hill and the cottage is the one with blue siding at the circular drive.

Note: Guests should bring their own drinking water. The cottage rents for $1,000 Canadian per week and linens are included but housekeeping is extra. This cottage would not be entirely suitable for someone alone to keep house in a wheelchair, as you would not be able to reach the dishes in the cupboards but they coud be kept on the counter.
